Don’t Walk Out Your Door Today Until You Do This

Are there hidden success secrets in the Bible? This important principle is mentioned 67 times in the bible yet today you rarely hear it mentioned from the pulpit.

You can’t find lasting success without it.

Fabulous victories were obtained by men of God when they employed it, and humiliating defeats when they neglected it. Yet it is a short exercise that can be done in less than a minute.

Can you afford to neglect this great principle? Your victory maybe at hand TODAY!

A stunned King David and his army had just returned to camp after a three day absence. The camp was a wreck, possessions stolen, wives and children kidnapped. They were devastated at the sight of the destruction and loss of their loved ones. Exhausted and distraught “They wept aloud until they had no strength left to weep” I Sam 30:16. His once loyal followers now were talking of stoning David. Before any action could be taken David knew what his next step would be.

David inquired of the Lord.

Inquire of the Lord

Inquire of the Lord

“Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?

God’s response? “Pursue them, you will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue” And David’s depleted army pursued them overtook them and recovered all that was taken.

Godly men and woman from Rebekah to David, and the Apostles of Jesus regularly inquired of God for direction, advice or decisions to be made.

I remember a number of years ago being at the end of my rope with my teenage child’s behavior. I decided that I would ground him forever or at least for a long time (been there?) Before I talked to him I prayed for God’s wisdom. Not a long prayer – closer to 30 seconds. When I arose from my prayer God had strongly reminded me that I was no saint myself and to let the matter go. Drop it completely! No punishment, just mercy. So I let the matter go which brought great peace to all involved.

So today I strive to inquire of God. Before every purchase, every activity, every decision, every investment, every commitment of my time I will inquire of the Lord.

Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths”

I want to get it right Lord.
